About us.

Rein Film is a Norwegian film production company established in 2009. Our producers are from Northern Norway, and their expertise is producing in the harsh Arctic climate the Barents region is known for.

We produce our own films, and we do international co-productions. The international producers we work with often tell us that producing in Norway is a lot cheaper and more cost effective than what they expected.

In 2024 our Sámi youth flick “My fathers´ Daughter” featuring Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Game of Thrones) and directed by Egil Pedersen premiered at Toronto International Film Festival.

Also with premiere in 2024 was the feature documentary “Riv i hjertet” with the musician Sondre Justad, directed by Trond Kvig Andreassen, and produced with Fenomen. In 2023 our war movie “Longing for today” directed by Knut Erik Jensen premiered. As well did our TV-drama created together with Fenomen: “Saving the Fucking Planet” and the feature documentary “We are still here”.

These co-productions were also released in 2023: Hisham Zaman’s feature film “A Happy Day”, the Finnish TV-drama “Reindeer Mafia” and the German TV-Drama “The Seed”.

In 2025 the documentary “Ski” produced and directed by Nikolai Schirmer will premiere at Tromsø International Film Festival.

Previous productions include the TV-drama “Monster” (2017), the French feature ”Spread your wings”(2019) and the Danish feature “Miss Osaka”(2021). Also worth mentioning is Tommy Wirkola’s feature film “Kurt Josef Wagle og mordmysteriet på Hurtigruta”(2017).

Rein Film is awarded the Norwegian Business Award “Gazelle” three years in a row 2015-2017 and again in 2022 and 2023.
